Pulling together the biblical sound and isolation of the bygone days of revelation with an atmosphere filled with hope and salvation, King Dude has woven his own unique brand of purely American music. He brandishes many varied influences in his songwriting… Everything from British Folk, Americana, Country and Blues can be heard in his songs. Even the heavier sounds of Heavy Metal tend to sneak and slither it’s way into the King Dude canon. The resulting songs are much more of a modern day hymn then your average pop song.

SCOUT PARE`-PHILLIPS (dark folk – New York USA)

Scout Paré-Phillips is a neofolk singer from Brooklyn, New York. Operatically trained, her soprano voice is both haunting and compelling. Writing mostly love ballads accompanied by autoharp or baritone guitar, her set is emotionally raw and riveting. She has two upcoming records on Not Just Religious Music, “Your Light” single, and “Heed the Call”, a full length LP. Her debut single, “Fields of Ash”, was considered one of the best neofolk records of 2013 by Heathen Harvest. She also sings and plays bass in her band, The Sterling Sisters.

Leggende del rock sperimentale losangelino, i Chrome costituiscono alla fine degli anni settanta il cosiddetto “quadrato di San Francisco” insieme a Residents, Tuxedomoon e MX-80.
Helios Creed sarà accompagnato da una nuova e potente formazione: il tastierista Tommy Grenas dei Farflung ed il batterista Aleph Omega, entrambi nei Chrome dal ’97, il chitarrista Keith Thomson dei Groggs, il video artist/performer e vocalist Monet Clark e la new entry Jay Tausig come bassista.
Presenteranno in Cox18 il nuovo album “Feel It Like A Scientist“.

Innovativi e pionieristici i Chrome si meritano il loro status di leggende dell’underground. Ancora selvaggi, ancora oltre i limiti, ancora intrisi negli acidi, I Chrome suoneranno nei più importanti festival e locali in giro per il mondo.

SIR RICHARD BISHOP (experimental/american primitive guitar USA)

Richard Bishop è un chitarrista sperimentale, le cui improvvisazioni e composizioni spesso riflettono sfumature che riportano all’India, al Medio Oriente, al Nord Africa e alla musica gitana. E’ conosciuto come membro fondatore (insieme al fratello Alan) dei SUN CITY GIRLS, gruppo sperimentale e pionieristico di improvvisazione etnica. Ha pubblicato il suo primo album solista, Salvador Kali, per l’etichetta Revenant di John Fahey nel 1998 con il nome di Sir Richard Bishop. Il secondo album, Improvika, è invece stato pubblicato da Locust Music nel 2004. Nel 2005 inizia un tour infinito, che lo porterà a suonare in Europa, Australia e Stati Uniti e che ancora non accenna a smettere. Nel maggio 2010 la Drag City pubblica l’album False Flag dei Rangda, supergruppo formato dallo stesso Bishop, Ben Chasny (Six Organs of Admittance, Comets on Fire) e Chris Corsano (Flower-Corsano Duo, Flaherty/Corsano, Jandek, Bjork).
E’ il fondatore dell’etichetta discografica Sublime Frequencies, specializzata in field recordings, folk e pop dal sud est asiatico, Nord Africa e Medio Oriente.

DELANEY DAVIDSON (folk noir/blues/country NZ)

Delaney Davidson è un cantautore e poli-strumentista neozelandese . Il suo sound attinge dal folk e dal country classico fino al rock di Ray Davies e Lou Reed, passando per i suoni di Ennio Morricone e il blues di Tom Waits. La musica per cabaret e le ballate di swamp blues.
Il quinto album in studio del singer songwriter neozelandese Delaney Davidson, Swim down Low, appena uscito per l’italiana Inside Outside con distribuzione Rough Trade, è già indispensabile. I dieci brani che compongono l’album, una volta ascoltati, si insediano stabilmente nelle orecchie e nel cuore di chi ama atmosfere indefinibili, in bilico fra sapori blues e rock, folk e ricerca. Del resto, Davidson è un giramondo, che ha collezionato, nel corso di dieci anni di tour, nazioni lontane e diverse fra loro, dall’Argentina alla Russia, dalla Romania al Messico, passando per l’Irlanda o l’Italia, che egli sembra avere adottato come luogo di ispirazione. Ma non solo: durante gli anni, ha avuto l’opportunità di dividere esperienze musicali con artisti come i Deep Purple, i Gogol Bordello, Gomes o Holly Golightly, il che ha contribuito a fare crescere Davidson nella consapevolezza espressiva e nell’efficacia comunicativa.
I suoi concerti dal vivo sono un’esperienza unica: chiarra e voce… e la suo Ghost Orchestra.

The Entrance Band are one of the most fascinating live shows we know. And we start the description with this feature because is not a minor one: the connection between guitarist Guy Blakeslee, bassist Paz Lenchantin (new Pixies bassist; earlier in A Perfect Circle, Zwan, Smashing Pumpkins) and drummer Derek James is just impressive. Three wonders that are capable of offering one of the shows with more flow that we have ever seen: you can almost see their minds interconnected, carried away by their musical intuition.
Appointed by L.A. Weekly as the best band in Los Angeles in 2013. They´ve just been chosen by Mazzy Star as openers for their upcoming West Coast tour. Selected by Animal Collective for ATP 2009.

The Entrance Band sink their roots in swampy psychedelia, but, as its name suggests, their music is full of mysterious nooks, sharing with the audience the trance in which they themselves seem submerged. “Face The Sun” is their new album (published in Europe by Ayo Silver! and in USA by Beyond Beyond is Beyond) and, by far the best, the one that is to bring them to the major league. This is a rare collection of songs that honors both sides of the road to the light: the glorious and the terrible, the light and the darkness.
A Sun always burning and dangerous, but, of course, infinitely enlightening.

Le canzoni dei 2Pigeons sono strutture proteiformi, di loop ritmici e vocali, dove la manipolazione del suono e del canto regala ai brani sfumature e imprevedibilità emozionale. Ma le loro composizioni non sono “giochi” virtuosistici o “algide” architetture che puntano a stupire, anzi. Originariamente nascono dalla dimensione primordiale del piano e della voce, dove a contare è solo la scrittura e la forza espressiva della canzone nella sua essenzialità.

Ecco che per fare riemergere questa dimensione arriva “Akustik”, un disco caldo, ricco di sonorità morbide e stranianti, nato prima come una serie di esibizioni dal vivo e poi come una fotografia in studio del momento della creazione. Il piano e la voce sono al centro dell’attenzione, ma soprattutto a contare sono una serie di canzoni destrutturate dai freddi byte che mostrano la struttura molecolare dei loop ritmici, ed appaiono melodiche, vocali, palpitanti, eppure mai classiche.
